Amrita Dzong is the US equivalent of the identically named organization founded by Lama Radha Chime Rinpoche in the UK. Its name is derived from the Sanskrit form of Chime ("amrita") and the Tibetan for fortress ("dzong").
The purpose of the organization is to promote the teachings of of the Kagyud lineage, from the Shravakayana to the Vajrayana, although especial emphasis is given to Sutra Mahamudra, a special teaching of the Kagyud.
Teachings are given weekly (on Friday evenings) by Lama Mike Crowley at the Hayfork center:
380 Duncan Creek Lane
Individual instruction is available upon request and further teaching is also given over the internet.
